Seeing this ship in the media since it got trapped in the Antarctic ice with journalists on board…
Here’s my favourite photo from a work trip to the Arctic on this same vessel back in 2008. (Along with 28 teenagers from around the world, blogging and making their own short films with our support.) The Russian crew were drying (or smoking?) their hand-caught fish in the main chimney… those of us ‘cruising for global warming’ had rather nice food in the galley, three times a day. Wishing everyone on board well, and hoping they’re released from the packed ice as soon as practicable.
