LEGS – disaster relief

‘Why LEGS?’ Here’s the 3-minute intro.:

Susi filmed in Nepal and Turkana (N.Kenya) to make a series of films for the FAO and Vetwork,
introducing the ‘LEGS‘ initiative and forming part of the training for aid workers.
The Livestock Emergency Guidelines & Standards (LEGS) includes animals in disaster relief
because they are crucial to lives and livelihoods in many of the world’s most vulnerable places.
In Turkana the main threats are drought and conflict; Nepali villagers talk about surviving landslides.
Working animals were vital after 2015’s earthquakes – the LEGS website has more

(LEGS is a formal companion to the SPHERE framework for humanitarian response)
