Training was often part of Susi’s work as a film-maker; in 2012 she began work with a team in NE Kenya. Their job was to document how Kenya’s Climate Adaptation Funding would be allocated, in a pilot government project funded by UK’s DFID (now part of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.)
Team member Hilda Kathure turned professional, with the appropriate equipment. She’s built her skills and CV – including government and NGO projects, work for UK’s Open University, and documentaries informing the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi.
Remote collaboration with Walking Pictures in October 2023 allowed voices from rural Kenya to speak at mass protests in London:
